Overview

Riding the Himalaya by motorcycle is a completely different way to experience Nepal's mountains — trading trail time for road time on some of the highest, roughest and most spectacular riding routes on earth. Our Himalayan motorcycle adventures cover the classic circuits: the switchbacks and high-desert plateau of Upper Mustang, the Manang-Annapurna loop through pine forest and glacial valleys, remote tracks into Dolpo, and the historic Kathmandu-to-Everest overland route through the mid-hills. Rides are supported end-to-end — well-maintained Royal Enfields or equivalent, an experienced lead rider who knows the terrain and altitude risks, a support vehicle for luggage and backup, and accommodation ranging from mountain lodges to local teahouses. This is adventure travel for riders who want their own bike underneath them and a genuine Himalayan road ahead, not a bus window.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an international driving permit to ride in Nepal?

Yes — you'll need a valid motorcycle license from your home country along with an International Driving Permit, or you can arrange a local temporary permit through us in advance.

How difficult is Himalayan motorcycle riding for an intermediate rider?

Routes like Upper Mustang and Manang involve rough, unpaved sections and high-altitude riding, so prior off-road or mountain riding experience is strongly recommended. We grade each route by difficulty and can tailor the itinerary to your riding level.

What size and type of motorcycle is used?

Most riders use a Royal Enfield Himalayan (411cc), built specifically for these roads. Other models are available on request for experienced riders.
