Entering Far-Western Nepal After breakfast, take a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi. From Dhangadhi, begin the scenic drive toward Gokuleshwor, passing through the changing landscapes of western Nepal. The road journey takes you gradually from the Terai toward the Himalayan foothills. Deep into the Api Himal Region Continue the drive toward Makarighat, one of the important gateways for the Api Himal Base Camp journey. The landscape becomes increasingly remote as you travel deeper into Darchula. BEGIN THE HIMALAYAN TREK Today the real adventure begins. Leave Makarighat and walk toward the mountain settlements, following the developing Api Base Camp trail. Depending on the final operating route and local conditions, the overnight may be arranged around Naupata or Siti, where homestay facilities are available. Into the Remote Wilderness Continue walking deeper into the Api Himal landscape. The trail gradually leaves the settled villages behind and enters a more remote mountain environment. Following the High Himalayan Valley After breakfast, continue along the remote route toward Simar. As the altitude increases, the landscape becomes more rugged and alpine. Toward the Hidden Himalaya Today continue deeper toward the Api Base Camp area. The trail enters increasingly dramatic mountain surroundings with spectacular views of the Api Himalayan range.
